WE ALL NEED TO CONTRIBUTE OUR TIME AND ENERGY TO MAKING WOODLAND KIWANIS SUCCESSFUL!!   

PLEASE FIND PLACES WHERE YOUR INTERESTS, SCHEDULE, AND SKILLS BEST FIT.

  • Board Member - Responsible for planning, directing, & delegating Club business.  Board meetings are normally held once a month after our regular meeting.  Time commitment - about 10 hours a month, 20 hours a month for President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
  • Cooking - Cooking & barbequing breakfasts & lunches for special events like School Programs,  City Festivities, etc.  Time commitment -  2 or 3 hours per event for helpers & servers.   Additional 2 hours for set-up and clean-up.  Committee Chairman - another  5 hours a month.
  • Drive-Through Dinners - Planning, preparing, barbequing, advertising, ticket sales, and working on fund raising drive-through dinners.  Time commitment -  4-6 hour shifts the day of the drive-through. Chairman - 20 hours per event 3 times a year. Whole Club sells tickets.
  • House  - Set up before and clean up after Club meetings.  Time Commitment - 1 hour per meeting.
  •  Handy Helpers - Provide assistance for Seniors doing small repairs in their residence as requested. - Approximately 1-3 hours per project.  
  • Key Clubs - Work with Woodland High Schools to establish and support student Key Club service organizations that develop student leadership skills, foster a sense of community service, promote good citizenship, and reflect Kiwanis values.  Coordinate with High School Administrators and staff - 2 hours a month.  Attend Key Club meetings  - 2 hours a month.
  • Meeting Leaders - Present, coordinate, and run Club Meetings.  Must enjoy public speaking and projecting enthusiasm to make meetings more fun and enjoyable.  1 hour five times a year rotating between committee members.
  • Membership - Promoting and coordinating new member recruitment and induction into the Club.  Time Commitment -  About 2 hours per month.  All Club members responsible for identifying and inviting family, friends, and community contacts to join.  Invite to 3 free lunches.
  • Poker Tournament - Planning, advertising, and coordinating annual Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament in the fall.  Time commitment - Chairman - 40 hours per year.  4 hours for set up and clean up day of the event.  All Club members recruit players and sell tickets.
  • Programs - Planning and coordinating outside speakers and presentations for Club meetings.  Time commitment - 4 hours per month.
  • Social Events -  Planning and coordinating regular social functions to build team cohesiveness and spirit.  Time commitment - Chairman about 10 hours per event 3 or 4 times a year.  Helpers for set up and clean up about 2 hours per event.
  • Sponsors - Donations - Event Facilities - Members who are able to sponsor events, donate funds, or have facilities that can be used for Club events.   Time commitment - As needed to coordinate with event organizers.
